Person treated for smoke inhalation after fire in flats in Wallis Avenue in Maidstone

A person was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke following a fire at a block of flats in Maidstone.

Crews were called to Wallis Avenue, shortly after 6.20pm and found two flats were affected by the blaze.

Firefighters were called to the scene earlier this evening

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to enter the building and fight the flames.

No one was injured and a dog was led to safety.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and crews left the area shortly before 9pm.
