A 'hit and run' which left a cyclist injured is being investigated by police.

The crash happened at around 6.30am on Madginford Road, between Royston Road and Egremont Road.

Officers say the vehicle had already left before they arrived.

The cyclist was treated for injuries by South East Coast Ambulance Service and he was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

The road has now reopened and police want to identify the driver of the vehicle.

Kent Police is calling for anybody who witnessed the incident, or any motorists with dashcam who were in the area at the time, to call Kent Police on 01622 604100, quoting reference 30-0205.
