A man has been injured after being hit by a bus just outside Maidstone town centre.

The A229 Loose Road is closed between The Wheatsheaf and Lancet Lane as a result of the collision at around 4.15pm.

Police and ambulance crews remain at the scene.

Traffic is diverting via the A274 Sutton Road which has temporary traffic lights near Buffkyn Way.
