Men suspected of trying to steal a trailer in Boxley then "deliberately" drove at the owner when they were challenged.

Police were called to the village near Maidstone last Wednesday where two men were reportedly attempting to take the vehicle.

A suspect has been arrested

When challenged by the owner they were said to have driven at her, forcing her to run for cover.

The vehicle believed to have been used in the attempted theft, a Hyundai sporting a false number plate, was spotted in Princes Avenue in Chatham on Sunday and stopped.

A man in his 30s has since been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, theft and assault.

He has been released on bail while investigations continue.
