Man taken to hospital after assault in Maidstone

A man was taken to a London hospital with a serious head injury after being attacked in Maidstone.

Trouble started when the man, who is around 40, was approached and chased by three men.

The victim was taken to a hospital in London following the assault

The incident happened in King Street on December 19 (Sunday).

At round 11.10pm, the man was walking away from the town centre when he was approached by three men who got out of a vehicle.

It is alleged that the victim was chased by the three men towards the junction with Sittingbourne Road, where the attack took place. The exact nature of the assault is not known.

Inspector Steve Kent, of the Maidstone Community Safety Unit, said: "We have been completing enquiries in the area, including the examination of CCTV footage, and are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident to contact us."

Officers are urging drivers with dashcam and residents with private CCTV to check for footage which may assist with the investigation.
