Maidstone: Police appeal for witnesses to serious collision on Sittingbourne-bound A249

Police want witnesses as a man cut free from the wreckage of his car recovers in hospital.

The 24-year-old suffered serious injuries when his black Ford Fiesta swerved off the road and ploughed into trees before coming to a stop back in the road on Saturday night.

The crash happened at around 11.35pm on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249, near the Detling Aerodrome.

Police were called to the scene.

Fire crews were called to cut him free from the car, and he remains in hospital.
