The assault happened in Mote Park and officers investigating the incident have now released images of two people they would like to speak to, hoping members of the public can help identify them.

The assault happened at around 4pm on July 29, on a footpath close to a lake. The suspects had been sitting on a bench and were with two children.

The woman is reported to have accused the victims of staring at them before she and the man carried out the unprovoked assault.

One of the victims suffered facial injuries and it is reported the man also spat in her face.
