A driver identified as a key witness to a fatal crash has come forward as part of an investigation.

Officers had been appealing to track down the motorist after a motorcycle and recovery truck collided in Rainham on Thursday.

The air ambulance, paramedics and police were called but could not revive the biker who died at the scene

Police appealed to find the driver after the crash in Otterham Quay Lane left the biker dead.

Detectives wanted to speak to the person driving a dark SUV-type vehicle which was in front of the bike before the collision at 2.57pm on November 19.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man from Lambeth, south London, died at the scene.

Several other witnesses have also been spoken to as part of the investigation and inquiries remain ongoing, a police spokesman said.
