Burglary suspect Dominic Lycett, of Corporation Road, Gillingham in court after jewels reported stolen

A suspected jewel thief has appeared in court after allegedly raiding a house.

Police were called to the property in Gillingham yesterday morning following reports a person was acting suspiciously in College Avenue.

Officers entered the home at about 8.15am and found it had been burgled with a large quantity of jewellery taken as well as a bank card.

The items were later recovered by police.

Inquiries led police to arrest Dominic Lycett, Corporation Road, Gillingham, and charge him with burglary.

The 30-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court this morning accused of the offence.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 6.
