A suspected jewel thief has appeared in court after allegedly raiding a house.
Police were called to the property in Gillingham yesterday morning following reports a person was acting suspiciously in College Avenue.
Officers entered the home at about 8.15am and found it had been burgled with a large quantity of jewellery taken as well as a bank card.
The items were later recovered by police.
Inquiries led police to arrest Dominic Lycett, Corporation Road, Gillingham, and charge him with burglary.
The 30-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court this morning accused of the offence.
He was remanded in custody to next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 6.
