Man charged after £15,000 of Apple laptops stolen from Bluewater and London stores

A man has been charged with theft after more than £15,000 worth of laptops were reported stolen from an Apple store.

Police were at Bluewater near Dartford on January 24 when the shop notified them of the crime.

Officers worked with the centre’s security team to locate a suspect who was later arrested.

A laptop was also recovered.

Benedict Ashi-Buogwu, of Cavendish Road, Rochester, was later charged with theft.

The 20-year-old was also charged with a further laptop theft from the same store which happened on January 9 and four counts of theft from stores in London between December 20 and January 21.

Ashi-Buogwu was bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 21.
