Swanscombe man charged with burglary in Wainscott, near Rochester

A suspected thief has been charged following a break-in at a village home.

Officers were called to Jarrett Avenue in Wainscott, near Rochester following reports of a burglary at 8pm on January 3.

A man has been charged on suspicion of robbery.

Several items of paperwork were believed to have been taken during the heist.

Paul Mounger, of Alamein Road, Swanscombe was later arrested and charged with burglary following an investigation.

The 30-year-old appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he also faced charges of being in possession of cocaine and driving without insurance, both on January 11.

He has been remanded in custody pending his next court hearing.
