A man has exposed himself in front of a teenage girl waiting for a bus - in the same area fears have been raised about a suspicious man approaching youngsters.

An old style black Nissan Micra reportedly pulled up alongside the teenager as she stood at a bus stop in Walderslade Road, Chatham.

The girl then saw that the driver had his bottom half exposed and that he was touching himself.

The driver made no attempt to speak to the girl before driving off.

He is described as white, in his 20s or 30s and of slim or slight build. He also had a few days of stubble on his face, and was wearing a dark blue tracksuit top and bottoms.

The incident occurred on Friday morning between 10.30am and 10.35am.

It comes after police stepped up patrols in Walderslade this week following separate reports of a suspicious man approaching schoolchildren.

The head teacher of Walderslade Girls School sent a letter home to parents after she was informed by police there may be a suspicious man in the area.

Police are investigating whether the earlier incidents are linked.
