Trains disrupted between Strood and Paddock Wood after vehicle hits bridge

Trains services were disrupted after a vehicle crashed into a bridge.

Southeastern services were held up at around 3.30pm between Strood and Paddock Wood as a result.

While National Rail gave the location as Cuxton people on social media reported seeing a lorry that had hit a bridge and was causing heavy traffic on near Pizza GoGo Strood High Street.

Jan Mackley, who runs nearby Shapers Ladies Gym, said: "I heard the crash from inside the gym so I ran out in case anyone was hurt. Thankfully it was only the lorry."

B&M declined to comment.

Network Rail confirmed there was no structural damage to the bridge over Strood High Street.
