Star player Bradley Dack is likely to be on his way out of Priestfield whatever Gillingham do this season.

The League 1 player-of-the-year has been subject to speculation this week over a £2.5m bid from Premier League side Crystal Palace.

At the start of year the Gills fended off interest from Bristol City, rejecting bids believed to be in the region of £2m.

Crystal Palace are understood to have also been interested at the time, along with a number of others.

Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh wasn’t surprised at the speculation linking the 22-year-old with a move to the Eagles and believes the attacking midfielder is worthy of a place in the Premier League.

Edinburgh said: “He has taken the personal accolades this season and rightly so. We are not silly, we know he will move on, that is football.

“It doesn’t surprise me one bit if that is true because he is destined for bigger and better things.

“I am not saying that if he went to Palace he would play, but certainly his future I can see as being a Premiership player.”

Dack, contracted to the Gills until the summer of 2018, has been voted League 1 player-of-the-year

by the division's managers and was also named in the PFA team-of-the-year.

A move to Palace would suit Dack location-wise, as he is lives close to the club and their Beckenham training ground.
