Police have closed the A25 at Sundridge up to the junction with the M25 as they assist the fire crews.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets and hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, which was reported at 4.37am.

No casualties have been reported and the cause is not yet known.

Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier remain at the scene, and crews are making steady progress extinguishing the flames.

Those living or working in the area are still being advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution due to smoke.

Kent County Council has now confirmed the fire is at its Sevenoaks (Dunbrik) recycling centre - which will be closed for several days.

More to follow.
