Sheerness man due in court after victim suffers slash wound

A man had to be taken to hospital after having his arm slashed.

Police were sent to Invicta Road, Sheerness, at about 8.40pm on Friday to reports of an assault.

A man is due in court

Medics also arrived and took the victim to hospital where he was later discharged.

At about 9.40pm, officers arrested a man on suspicion of assault.

Shaun Packer, of Victoria Street, Sheerness, was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and possession of a knife or sharp pointed object in a public place.

The 55-year-old appeared before Medway magistrates on Monday where he was remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, July 27.
