Crash involving Arriva bus and car in Millennium Way, Sheerness

Police have been called to a crash between a car and a bus.

It happened in Millennium Way, Sheerness, near the town's Aldi store.

A search has begun for the person behind the wheel of the black Renault Kadjar after the crash with the Arriva bus.

The road heading towards Minster was blocked and officers had to direct traffic to use the other side of the road.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 1.47pm to a collision between a car and a bus.

"The occupant of the car is reported to have left on foot following the crash and enquiries to locate him are ongoing.

"The road is partially obstructed and motorists may encounter some delays in the area."

An Arriva spokesman said: "We can confirm that a stationary bus was involved in a collision with a car in Sheerness this afternoon.

"Investigations are ongoing, however there were no reported injuries."
