Trains had to be cancelled due to a fault with the barriers at a level crossing.

They were unable to run over the Kingsferry Bridge, between Sheerness-on-Sea and Sittingbourne railway stations.

Train services between Sheerness and Sittingbourne are currently suspended. Stock picture

There were replacement buses running between Sheerness and Sittingbourne in place of any cancelled trains.

Engineers have now managed to fix the fault and services are running normally again.
