Man seriously injured in car loading accident in Nelson Avenue, Minster, Sheppey flown to King’s College Hospital in London

A man who suffered serious injuries while attempting to load a car onto a trailer was flown to hospital.

Paramedics were called to Nelson Avenue in Minster, Sheppey, at about 4.30pm yesterday (July 31).

The casualty was airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: "I can confirm SECAmb was called at approximately 4.30pm yesterday to reports a man had been injured by a car.

"Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service.

"The man was treated before being airlifted to hospital in a serious condition."

A spokesman added: "Kent Police was to a report that a man had been injured whilst attempting to load a car onto a trailer.

"Officers attended and enforced a road closure.”

The Health and Safety Executive – the government body which is the watchdog for workplace health, safety and welfare – has been informed.
