A music video by pop star Dua Lipa and featuring both of Sheppey's bridges has been viewed more than 7.5 million times.

Filming for the 'Levitating' video took place underneath the Sheppey Crossing and near the Kingsferry Bridge.

It is for the remix version of the song, the fifth track on the Brit Award winning singer's second studio album, Future Nostalgia, which was released in March this year.

The remix, by The Blessed Madonna, was released through Warner Records as the lead single from her remix album, Club Future Nostalgia, on August 14. It features Madonna and rapper Missy Elliott.

Although the singing sensations did not actually film on Sheppey, the music video has now been viewed on Youtube 7,584,794 times.

Gabrielle Lindemann, film officer at Kent County Council, said the Sheppey parts were filmed on Saturday, August 1 and took just over half a day to do.

"The location manager got in contact with the Kent Film Office wanting to film around the Sheppey Crossing, which he knew from previous filming in the county," she said.

"As per the story in the video, various couples, played by actor/dancers go on a journey together which features the bridges as backdrops.

When asked how much money would have gone back into the local economy by allowing this to be filmed on Sheppey, she said: "As this was a very minimal shoot, it would only have been about £1,000."

She added: "The Isle of Sheppey has been very popular with music videos, largely due to its post industrial coastline.

"Artists using the Island for their videos have included Robbie Williams, The Kooks, Mick Jagger and Amie McDonald."

Indie band The Kooks used Sheppey to promote their single 'No Pressure', from the album Let’s Go Sunshine, last year.

The video showed a couple of newlyweds from the 1960s emerging from Harty church and chatting on a bench at Barton’s Point Coastal Park in Sheerness.

In 2016, former Take That star Robbie Williams used Shellness , near Leysdown, to shoot his video for 'It’s My Life' and, a year later, Scottish singer Amy Macdonald made a music video in the same part of the Island.
