Woman trapped inside vehicle after crash on the A249 between Bobbing and Stockbury, near Sittingbourne

A woman was trapped inside her car following a collision with another vehicle on the A249, near Sittingbourne .

Officers were called to the Maidstone -bound carriageway between Bobbing and Stockbury shortly after 2.30pm.

Two fire engines attended and crews used cutting equipment to free a woman trapped inside one of the vehicles.

She was then handed into the care of paramedics.

The carriageway was blocked following the collision between the two vehicles, thought to have been a car and a truck, and initially one lane was reopened.

People were reporting they had been stuck in the queues for more than 40 minutes and there was also congestion on the A2 around the Key Street roundabout.

It was cleared and all lanes reopened by about 5.20pm.
