An enterprising postman removed his footwear and rolled up his trouser legs before wading through a flooded road in Margate after heavy downpours this morning.

Dan Thompson, of Arlington House, watched vehicles coping with the testing conditions in All Saints Avenue.

He said: "Cars driving through the flood at speed are pushing the water towards neighbouring homes. Pedestrians, take another route!"
