Man found dead next to Salvation Army in Ramsgate High Street

A man was found dead next to a Salvation Army building.

Darren Holmes was found slumped in a wheelchair down the side of the charity's base in Ramsgate High Street on Sunday, October 13.

The 55 year old of no fixed abode was declared dead at the scene.

Police were called to the area at the time and confirmed the death was not suspicious.

At the opening of the inquest into his death at the Archbishop's Palace, Maidstone today, the court heard how Mr Holmes was formally identified by Kent Police.

A post mortem determined the cause of death as multiple drug toxicity.

Assistant coroner for mid Kent and Medway Ian Brownwell adjourned a full inquest until Wednesday, April 11.
