Ambulance crews were called to the crash on Hengist Way at 12.25am but Mr Foster died at the scene.

The road closure has caused tailbacks

The road was closed for more than 11 hours while crash investigators looked into the circumstances. All lanes had re-opened by 11.30am.

An ambulance spokesman said: "Ambulance crews in two cars and an ambulance attended the scene. The male motorcyclist sadly died at the scene."

The serious collision investigation unit wants to speak to anyone who saw the crash or the motorcycle beforehand.

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to call PC Mark Wooding on 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
