Ramsgate man arrested after 'knife threats' at Chatham Court is released by police

A man arrested by police after allegedly making threats with a knife has been released.

Police attended a flat in Ramsgate yesterday afternoon and arrested a 41-year-old man.

Officers responded to a call following a disturbance between two people known to each other at Chatham Court in Margate Road at 4.15pm.

They were seen searching the building before bringing a man out in handcuffs and putting him into the back of a police car.

Police today confirmed the man was "refused charge" meaning he was released without any further action being taken.

A spokesman said: "A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with an incident after police were called to Ramsgate Road, Margate at 4.15pm on 12 April 2019.

"He was refused charge."
