Woman hit by train near Dumpton Park railway station between Margate and Ramsgate in critical condition

A woman is in a critical condition after she was hit by a train.

Train services were halted between Margate and Ramsgate last night, as emergency services responded to an 'incident'.

The incident was first reported by Southeastern, who arranged replacement bus services for the duration of the incident.

Police and paramedics rushed to Dumpton Park station near Ramsgate yesterday at about 6pm.

Ambulance crews, including the hazardous area response team, and critical care crews attended.

The person was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said she had "life-threatening" injuries. She remains in a critical but stable condition.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
