A road that was flooded last week is to be closed for resurfacing.

Kent County Council has announced North Farm Road in Tunbridge Wells will be shut for eight nights.

A water main burst last week, with the force of the water washing away much of the road, including a mini roundabout.

South East Water shared this photo of water gushing down the road.

The closure will be in place between Sandhurst Road and Dowding Way from Monday for eight nights between 7pm and 6am.

The existing road surface will be stripped and leveled before the new road will be laid. Road markings will also be repainted before the road is opened again.

KCC has warned nearby residents that this is noisy work, and that it is also weather dependent. There will not however be work on Saturdays or Sundays.
