Passenger charged by police after telegraph pole crash on A21, Lamberhurst

A passenger has been charged with interfering with a car which crashed into a telegraph pole.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the A21, between the village of Flimwell and Kilndown, near Lamberhurst and Tunbridge Wells, at about 8.20pm on Saturday.

No serious injuries were reported but Stefan Crocker, 27, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested that evening in connection with the incident and was later charged with dangerously interfering with a travelling motor vehicle.

Crocker, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, September 16.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses, and anyone with information is urged to call the appeal line on 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/158846/19.
