Armed police called to house at Staplehurst Road near Linton Hill

Armed police have swooped on a house after being told it was being ransacked.

The force responded just after 12.15pm to Staplehurst Road, Marden.

A spokesman said the call came in as a burglary in progress and the police helicopter has been sent up to help search for the suspect.

Officers, including those carrying weapons, remain at the scene and forensics officers were also seen in the nearby in the Millbrook Garden Centre car park.

Staplehurst Road in both directions has been closed by police while they deal with the incident.

It is closed between The Stile Bridge and the garden centre.
