A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews evacuated the occupants of neighbouring properties as a precaution.

"Then, wearing breathing apparatus, they worked to contain and extinguish the fire, which had spread into the loft space of the home.

"There were no reported injuries, and the cause is not yet known."
