Staplehurst remembers Prince Philip

Villagers in Staplehurst have shown their grief at the loss of the Duke of Edinburgh by lighting up a tree in purple.

Paddy Riordan, the chairman of Staplehurst Parish Council, said: "We wanted to join other towns and cities around the world marking their grief by illuminating a local landmark."

The tree is at The Parade.

Prince Philip passed away on Friday morning at Windsor Castle. He was 99.
