Pedestrian air lifted to hospital after being hit by car in Brenchley Road, Horsmonden

An elderly woman has been rushed to hospital after she was struck by a car this morning.

She was struck by a Toyota RAV4 at around 9am in Brenchley Road, Horsmonden.

An air ambulance was called to the scene along with paramedics and police.

Secamb spokesman Rich Airey said: "WE can confirm we were called shortly before 9am today to reports a person had been hit by a car. Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service. The pedestrian, a woman, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital with potentially serious injuries."

Brenchley Road remains closed. No arrests have been made.

The pedestrian's injuries are thought to be serious and she has been taken to London via air ambulance.
