Matfield man believed to have threatened a shop worker with a knife while demanding money to appear in court

A man believed to have threatened a shop worker with a knife has been charged.

Robert Plowman is reported to have entered Goudhurst Newsagents, in High Street, and demanded cash from the till on Tuesday at around 2.30pm.

The robbery happened at Goudhurst Newsagents

The 29-year-old of Crittenden Road, Matfield, left empty handed and was arrested in Paddock Wood later that day.

He was charged with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place the following day and was remanded in police custody.

He is due to appear by video-link before Medway Magistrates Court today.
