Police helicopter in West Kingsdown after man stabbed in Goudhurst

A teenager is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder after a gang attacked a man.

Police are appealing for the public's help after a group stabbed a man in his 40s in Lurkins Rise, Goudhurst, yesterday evening.

An air ambulance was called to the scene, but the victim was taken to a London hospital by ambulance on the road.

A national police helicopter was launched and officers arrested an 18-year-old in Crowhurst Lane, West Kingsdown, on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in custody as inquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Mat Scott, from Kent Police’s Crime Investigation Department, said: "We understand the individuals involved in this incident are known to each other and we are following numerous lines of enquiry.

"Although we have made an arrest, and spoken with a number of people at the scene, we are keen to hear from anyone who has information that is yet to speak with us.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a grey Kia SUV type vehicle and a black Ford Focus estate travelling in the Goudhurst and Cranbrook areas between 7pm and 9pm.’
