Military Odyssey is back at Kent Showground in Detling this August bank holiday

More than 4,000 re-enactors will gather for the world's largest multi-period re-enactment show this weekend.

The awesome display of military might is for the Military Odyssey show, which returns for its 21st year to the Kent Showground at Detling near Maidstone.

Running from Saturday, August 28 to Bank Holiday Monday, August 30 a vast period of global history will be on show, including Romans, Vikings, Medieval, Napoleonic, the American Civil War, the Wild West, both World Wars and Vietnam right up to the present day.

There will be two separate arenas and the main battlefield, as well as 250 stalls and 200 vehicles.

There will also be a beer tent, beer hall, indoor seating area and toilet facilities. The site is wheelchair accessible too.

Tickets can be booked in advance online at military-odyssey.com or bought at the box office at the showground.
