A driver has been left seriously injured after their car flipped onto its roof.

Police were called to the London-bound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way, between Whitstable and Faversham, at about 9.50am.

A car had overturned near Dargate.

A police spokesman said: "The driver was seriously injured and has been taken to a local hospital for treatment."

Traffic was backing up to Yorkletts following the incident, but has now cleared.

The ambulance service has been approached for more information.
