Police appeal launched after PCSO has stone thrown at him near Whitstable Harbour

A PCSO had a stone thrown at him after being called to investigate reports of erratic driving.

The officer was threatened near Whitstable Harbour after he challenged two men in a silver Volkswagen Bora.

Both the driver and passenger scarpered but Sam Brampton, 25, was arrested and subsequently charged with drink driving following the incident last Saturday afternoon.

However, the passenger, who threw a stone at the officer, is yet to be found.

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to.

Anyone who knows who he is, or has any information regarding the incident, should call the police on 01843 222289, quoting 46/63344/20.

Brampton, of Farrier Close in Herne Bay, is due before magistrates next month.
