A woman cyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash on an Ashford road.

Police received a report of an accident involving a cyclist in Canterbury Road, just after 1.30pm today.

Bus services were delayed around Kennington and traffic was heavy near the town centre following the incident on the junction with Magazine Road.

Officers attended along with paramedics following a report of minor injuries, including a report of a potential head injury.

The woman was assessed at the scene, and treated for injuries which included to her face.

She was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Willesborough for further assessment.
