Appeal after school girl approached in Kingsnorth, Ashford

Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of an attempted accosting in Ashford.

The incident happened yesterday, just before 5pm.

It was reported that a girl of primary school age was in a park near Bluebell Road in Kingsnorth when she was approached by a man on a bicycle who attempted to grab her on the waist.

The girl was able to run away and seek help from friends and family, and the police were called.

Our officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area.

The man is described as white, aged about 30, with a medium build. He had short dark blonde spiked hair, and wore a light blue short-sleeved t-shirt, shorts and was riding a blue bicycle.
