Ashford AC’s Eleanor Campbell had an outstanding day at the Kent Schools track and field championships at the Julie Rose Stadium taking two junior girls sprint golds.

Representing St Augustine’s and Canterbury schools, she had a convincing 12.80 win in the 100m – just outside ESAA qualifying – but made the English Schools’ mark in winning the 200m in 26.30 after a good battle with Bromley’s Krystal Galley (26.70).

Campbell has already twice clocked inside 25.9 at the Kent senior championships and run a national standard 12.6 for Ashford’s senior women in the 100m.

Young Oliver Williams’ outstanding year continued with a fine Year 7 victory in the 100m with 13.20 and Will Mitham won the intermediate boys 1500m steeplechase convincingly with 5:02.4.

The Ashford team had a good day in the field with Deborah Martin winning the IG high jump well with 1.53m and Amber Regardsoe won the IG shot in style with 9.12m.

Brogan Cummins was outstanding for Ashford with gold and silver winning the IG discus with 29.36m and just edged out in the javelin with 26.98m.
