Car overturns on A28 between Ashford and Tenterden on bend between Great Chart and Bethersden

A driver walked away without serious injuries from a crash in which their car flipped on to its roof last night.

Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the scene on the A28 between Great Chart and Bethersden near Ashford shortly after 11.15pm.

The car, a Peugeot 306, had overturned and when crews arrived found it upside down in the middle of the road.

A spokesman from Ashford Fire Station said they were called to make the scene safe and that they believed one casualty was "walking wounded" before being taken into the care of paramedics.

A police spokesman added: "Kent Police was called at 11.16pm on Saturday, February 21 after a blue Peugeot 306 overturned on the A28 between Bethersden and Great Chart.

"Officers attended to ensure public safety and the road was clear by 12.40am. Ambulance and fire crews were also in attendance but no serious injuries were reported."
