Eurostar evacuated after fire alarm

A total of 450 people had evacuate a Eurostar train after its fire alarm went off.

Passengers were asked to leave the train at Ashford International Station as a precaution on Monday.

Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident but nobody was injured.

The incident, reported at 3pm, was on a Brussels to London service and another train was sent to pick up the passengers to continue their journey.

British Transport Police have taken over the investigation although no criminal offence is believed to have been committed.
