Eurostar: Seven-day strike action suspended

Strikes by Eurostar workers will be suspended from midnight tonight to allow for further talks.

RMT members were due to walk out until Monday night as part of a dispute over rotas and their work-life balance.

Earlier today, the TSSA union cancelled its own strike action, after an agreement to review work rosters.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union walked out this morning and were due to stay on strike until Monday night.

The RMT union says the dispute is over unsocial hours and duty rosters for train managers.

It centres on Eurostar's apparent failure to stand by an agreement in 2008 designed to ensure train managers could expect a good work-life balance - which union members claim is being undermined.
