Fire and ambulance crews attend M20 between junctions 8 for Leeds and 9 for Ashford after lorry and car collide

Two people were taken to hospital this morning, including a man in his 40s, after two vehicles crashed along the M20.

Fire crews were called to the coastbound stretch of the motorway, between junctions 8 for Leeds and 9 for Ashford, at around 6.30am.

A car and lorry had collided, with the car ending up leaving the lane and driving up the embankment.

Two ambulances were called to the scene to treat three patients.

Two people were taken to the William Harvey Hospital, including a man aged in his 40s with a suspected chest injury.

One lane was shut while the vehicles were recovered, opening again at around 8.30am.
