M20 blocked in both directions after multi vehicle crash

The eastbound carriageway of the M20 is blocked near where a body was found last night.

Between junction 9 for Ashford and junction 10 for Ashford south, several cars were involved in the incident and traffic leading up to it is stationary.

The other side, heading to London, remains closed after a body was found on the carrieagway shortly after 6pm yesterday.

Police have continued their investigations this morning and the road is set to reopen at around midday.

The death is being treated as unexplained and officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Road users travelling to London and the M25 from Dover have been advised to use the A2/M2 instead.

Drivers are being diverted off Junction 10 and follow the A292/A2042 through Ashford to the Drovers roundabout.

Anyone who saw a pedestrian in the area between junctions 10 and 9 should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538 quoting reference 20-0913.
