Robbery and money laundering suspect arrested on M20 near Ashford

A man wanted for robbery and money laundering was arrested on the M20 last night.

Kent Police officers pulled over the 33-year-old near Ashford shortly before midnight. He was wanted in Cambridgeshire.

Officers tweeted this picture from the car park of the nearby Travelodge, adding:"Vehicle involved in robbery.

"Cash, phones and money stolen. Driver arrested. For offences and money laundering."

A police spokesman added: "At 11.43pm on Saturday 9 September 2017, officers arrested a 33-year-old man from Peterborough on suspicion of robbery and money laundering.

"The man was arrested on the M20 near Charing and remains in police custody."
