Man suffers facial fractures after 'unprovoked assault' in Ashford

A man in his 20s suffered facial fractures and will have to have surgery after an 'unprovoked assault' in Ashford.

The victim was walking towards the train station around 11.50pm when he was punched and kicked by another man.

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the attack in Station Approach on Thursday, August 18.

Investigating officer DC Carl Evans said: "We believe this was a completely unprovoked attack. As a result of the assault the victim suffered a number of fractures to his face and is having to undergo surgery."

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, with dark hair. He was wearing a grey top and trousers.

DC Evans added: "We believe he ran off through the train station car park.

"I urge anyone who witnessed the assault, or who saw the offender either before or afterwards, to contact us."
