Remembrance Day services

War memorials across the area will be the focus of two-minute silences and tributes as people gather to pay tribute to servicemen and women who lost their lives serving their country.

Ashford town centre’s remembrance service takes place from 10.45am at the Memorial Gardens.
It includes the traditional wreath laying and a two-minute silence at 11am that will be attended by Ashford Mayor John Holland and other civic leaders.

SHEPWAY area:

The annual remembrance service in Folkestone takes place at the war memorial in West Terrace on Sunday.
Veterans, civic leaders and others will line up for the wreath laying, two minutes’ silence at 11am and a service led by Fr Stephen Bould, chaplain to the Mayor, Cllr Janet Andrews.
The Hythe civic parade and service will be held at the war memorial in The Grove.
Those taking part in the parade should meet at 10.15am on the south bank of the Royal Military Canal.
The Salvation Army is hosting a service of remembrance at its corps headquarters in Canterbury Road, Folkestone, at 6pm on Sunday.
An eight-strong mayoral party will walk to St Nicholas Church in New Romney from the Assembly Rooms in Church Approach at 10.35am on Remembrance Sunday.
The Romney Marsh Burma Star service of remembrance will be held at the memorial in Church Approach in New Romney on Wednesday from 10.45am.
The pupils of St Nicholas Primary School will be attending.
The Dymchurch Remembrance Day service will start with a parade at 10.30am from the Royal British Legion Club on the seawall to the war memorial in New Hall Close, next to St Peter and St Paul’s Church.
People will gather at memorial at 10.45am for service and silence at 11am.
Other services in the area include St Clements Church in Old Romney at 10.30am; St George’s, Ivychurch, at 10.45am; All Saints in St Mary’s Bay at 10.45pm; St Mary the Virgin in St Mary in the Marsh at 6.30pm; and parade from the Guildhall for a service and wreath-laying at All Saints in Lydd at 10.45am.
