Cheeseman’s Green in Aldington near Ashford shut by police due to lorry in ditch

A road has been shut in both directions by police after a lorry crashed into a ditch.

The vehicle was spotted off the road in Cheeseman’s Green, in Aldington, near Ashford, earlier this afternoon.

The route is shut between Cheeseman’s Green Lane and Gill Lane with traffic being diverted.

Meanwhile, a picture has also been captured of a car with a smashed-up front bumper near Broad Oak – about a mile-and-a-half away from where the lorry was seen.

Police are at the scene of both incidents and motorists are being diverted.

Elsewhere, the M20 is still shut between Junction 10A for Ashford South and Junction 11 for Hythe after a fuel spillage and a serious crash this morning.

A car driver has been taken to hospital following the incident which happened in the early hours.

The emergency services have been contacted for comment on the accidents in Aldington.
